2008 development PSS
In 2008 we start developing PSS, the Parallel Shifting System. Patented by Flevobike and Gazelle. PSS is a derailleur system(chain link system) that is adapted so it can be wrapped and gears can be changed while pedaling forward and backwards. By wrapping it it's a low-maintenance system. It combines the low maintenance part of a gear hub with the high efficiency of a derailleur system. |
2007 GreenMachine wins Eurobike award
The GreenMachine wins the Eurobike Award 2007. There were 269 applicants of which 4 were awarded the highest nomination. Flevobike was one of those four. ![]() A quote from the judges: 'As a recumbent bike the GreenMachine is a new concept. Everything is from one casting, nicely enclosed, a perfect industrial design in its best form. By using this closed system the chains and the gears are nearly maintenance-free. Considering this design is made by a small company is something to take off one's hat to.' |

2005 Flevobike develops the quick-change-skate
Jan Maarten Heideman, a well known and very successful marathon skater, first had the idea of a quick-change-skate. During the long races on natural ice he had trouble with the blades, after skating on the bad quality ice for a while the blades were blunt and got damaged. He had to change his skates, which took a long while to do and, being in a race, that was really bad. There had to be a quicker and better way to change skates/blades. |
