By designing, developing and producing all models ourselves in over 20 years, Flevobike has extensive skills and experience in this area. Flevobike has helped many people and several (well-known) recumbent bicycle producers in their developmental process from prototype to a complete product. By investing a lot of our time in developing the skills and mindset to work with 3D CAD programs and by obtaining modern equipment, we are able to be very flexible and can adjust to the needs of our client easily.
Prototyping
Flevobike built several prototypes for new products or products that are still being developed for customers varying from small to big companies. Our extensive technical knowledge and being able to think along with our originator is our strength! Together with our customers we’ve been able to make a lot of succesfull prototypes.
CAD (Computer Aided Design)
Flevobike develops their products with the help of a 3D CAD program. The packages we use to do so are SolidWorks®, MicroStation® en TopSolid®. These are very strong packages with extensive possibilities. The most common formats, like Parasolid, IGES, STEP, DXF/DWG and STL can be exported or imported easily.
CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing)
TopCAM® is our most important tool to be able to produce intricate products with our 3D milling machine. Both our own files and files provided by costumers can be provided with milling strategies and transformed to machine code by Topcam®, so they can be read and executed by our Bridgeport® milling machine.
CNC (Computer Numerical Control)
Since December 2000 Flevobike is the proud owner of a Bridgeport® milling work centre including a 12.000 rev axle. This milling machine has a range of X-1020mm, Y-610mm and Z-610mm. With a rapid traverse of 40 m/min, it’s maximum charge, the mill can convert a 4 kilo block of aluminum into a 570grams rear-axle for the Versatile within 60 minutes, maintaining an accuracy of 1/100 mm.
A STARK® zero-point quick-change system enables us to change parts in a matter of seconds and to continue working exactly where we left off without the loss of accuracy.
Combined with standard clamps, clamping plates and a vacuum clamping system, this milling machine is very versatile, which is exactly what you need when you develop and produce.
TIG-welding
Flevobike has the knowledge to join thin walled steel or aluminum tubes together in a precise and solid way by means of TIG welding.
